Anakin could feel Padmé in her room – he couldn’t help it, her presence was just right there whenever he opened himself to the Force. He could feel her sadness, it matched his own. But there was nothing to be done for it. She’d made her choice – there was no fight left to win.
He did not want tea, he wanted to be left to himself for the remainder of this assignment. He cared about Padmé and her happiness, how much he wanted her to smile, but he needed the distance for his own heart. She couldn’t expect more from him.
“Unless there is immediate danger, my lady, it is better if I stay out here until it's time to leave.”
