What he wished?! As if now she was magnanimously accommodating his decisions to what? Fortify his emotions against more exposure to pain? This sparked a reserve of anger within him. Padmé could not expect to be on such friendly and familiar terms with him after making the choice to not further their relationship. She could not have it both ways. If she could not accept a relationship with him, all there was left was for him to fulfill his duty as Jedi assigned to protect her. Being a Jedi was all there was left for him to do. And they Jedi weren't personable.
